Brrrr it’s too cold!

These days I don’t feel comfortable travelling to London to busk in the underground. Yes, busking is my job, but I can survive by other means until the spread of the virus dies down. I got used to the warmth and comfort of busking indoors, however, so I haven’t been out in the open air for a while. Beginning of November was the last time I went and that was in Leeds. Otherwise I’ve just been busking in Lincoln.​ Any sign of cold and I’d rather stay home, but I do make the effort occasionally. Just have to follow my own tips about dressing properly for the occasion. I’m looking forward to warmer weather next year.

Lately, I have been working hard on the violin. I’ve been joining in on Irish sessions online, taught music theory for the first time (and my student passed the exam, yippee!), and have been preparing for my own grade 7 exam on the violin. I hope to take it in the spring. I’m thinking I need to start teaching more to fill in the gap for times like these when I can’t go out all the time to busk. I still need to learn how to use that loop pedal by the way, so if you have any pointers, send them my way please!

I’ve been planning to write a blog post about busking and sleep for a long time. I’ll aim to get that out sooner rather than later so you have something to look forward to.
